This was filmed in the summer of 1997.

The model is a TSK 30, an all metal helicopter.

The video shows what happens when the root on a main blade fails.

When the blade flies off it cuts off the tail rotor and then beats itself to bits.

You can hear the engine still running on the way down.

Andy fixed the helicopter later and even fitted custom built carbon side frames later.

No animals were harmed during the filming of this event.
